It was pointed out quite recently on Doomworld that the the picture in the frame on PANEL5 is the same as a texture from the game "Shadow Caster". I realise that it is too low-res to be used as it is, but I thought it might be useful to post it here in case anyone wanted to use it as a base for their own PANEL5.



Obviously it is reversed, but other than that, it's clearly the same texture or, at least, based on the same source.

Is it a rip from a game?
I guess I can always draw it.

Yeah, I thought that it might be big enough to show enough detail to allow someone to recreate it in a bigger format. The original Panel5 is so small that it's hard to work out what is going on.

Interestingly, the picture used in the HRP has a very similar theme - ie someone getting bitten whilst being watched over by a winged creature (it's even been reversed). I don't know who did that version of panel5 originally, but maybe they knew the original panel5 source image and went for something with a similar theme?
